The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University will present a special one-night-only screening of the cult-classic film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 8 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Hershel Zohn Theater.

The screening is co-sponsored by NMSU’s Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center.

The story follows one fateful evening in the lives of a clean-cut, newly engaged couple as their car breaks down outside of Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s castle. The movie musical includes memorable songs like “Sweet Transvestite” and the dance-along ditty “The Time Warp.”

Admission is $6 and movie-goers are encouraged to dress up for a costume contest to be held before the screening. Special “Rocky Horror” prop bags will be available for sale at the theater for $4 and door prizes will be given away.

Ticket sales will begin at 7 p.m. and the costume contest and film screening will begin at 8 p.m. For more information call the Hershel Zohn box office at 575-646-4515.
