NM state FFA elects new officers

Vocational agriculture students meet at convention

Amanda Ball of Moriarty will serve as state president while the office of secretary will be held by Jacob Townsend of Los Lunas. The top two officers will travel the state meeting with as many chapters and students as possible. They will also travel to Washington, D.C., and Utah to receive additional training which they can pass along during their chapter visits.

The other officers serve as vice presidents for their district and are as follows: District I went to Fish Valdez of Shiprock; District II went to Sarah Goetsch of Las Vegas; District III to Diego Dow of Belen; District IV went to Will Hodnett of Texico; District V went to Elizabeth Pantoja of Hagerman; and District VI went to Klayton Bearup of Cliff.
FFA currently has 74 chapters throughout New Mexico. The district officers will travel to all chapters within their district to promote leadership within FFA. New Mexico FFA’s stated mission is to prepare today’s youth for careers in tomorrow’s global agriculture industry.
