Bank robbery suspect

Las Cruces police and the FBI are investigating the Wednesday morning robbery of the Wells Fargo bank at 2400 N. Main St.

Police were called to the bank shortly after 9 a.m. after a man reportedly walked into the bank and displayed a note that demanded money. The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was last seen leaving the bank heading southbound on foot.

The suspect was described as a slender white male in his 50s, with a gray mustache and trimmed beard. Surveillance photos of the suspect show him wearing a gray, long-sleeve New Mexico State University T-shirt and a baseball cap.

The FBI will release additional information as it becomes available.
