‘Toss No Mas’ set for Oct. 15

Las Cruces Police Department

The Keep Las Cruces Beautiful and New Mexico Clean and Beautiful programs will host the 17 th annual Toss No Mas campaign – formerly known as the Trek for Trash campaign – on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Hundreds of volunteers are asked to help collect litter at parks, schools, streets and business properties from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 15. Toss No Mas volunteers will then be treated to a free lunch hosted by International House of Pancakes. The lunch will be held at the Dream Center, 1400 N. 6 th St. in Las Cruces .

Last year, 532 volunteers collected more than seven tons of litter during the annual event. The goal this year is to collect at least 10 tons of litter.

Individual volunteers and groups are encouraged to register early for the Toss No Mas campaign, which is an opportunity for organizations to show their pride in Las Cruces, organizers said. To volunteer, call Craig Fenske at (575) 528-4723 or click on the “Keep Las Cruces Beautiful” link at www.CLCPD.com .

The Toss No Mas campaign is organized locally by Keep Las Cruces Beautiful, a program of the Las Cruces Police Department’s Codes Enforcement Division.
