Gunmen pulled the victim out of the car, his hands tied behind his back, and shot him at least 15 times at close range. The unidentified victim was about 20 years old and was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and white tennis shoes.
  • Two men were shot to death in colonia Los Arenales I, after running several blocks in a failed effort to escape armed pursuers, according to Juárez media. The bodies were found near the door of a house at the intersection of Segunda de Puerto Lisboa and Puerto Lisboa. Investigators collected 53 spent shell casings. Neighbors were able to identify the victims only by their nicknames, “El Güero” and “El Churras,” about 25 and 30 years old. Both were said to work in construction.
  • Gunmen killed a man Monday night in the exclusive Hacienda de la Paloma neighborhood, according to a media report. The shooting took place near the intersection of Avenida Manuel Gómez Morín y Camino Escudero. The victim so far has been identified only as a male between 45 and 50 years old. Investigators collected more than 50 shell casings at the scene. Police launched a search for the killers, but as of late Monday night there was no word on the progress of the investigation.
  • Juárez Mayor Hector “Teto” Murguia and Chihuahua Gov. Cesar Duarte had to make a detour Monday when en route to the gymnasium of the Colegio de Bachilleres in Central Park West, where Murguia was scheduled to give his first report to the city. The two dignitaries were diverted to a shopping center when gunshots were heard about 1.5 kilometeres from their vehicle. Police scoured the area and found only some shell casings behind a Walmart store and in the intersection of Avenidas Valentín Fuentes y Ejército Nacional, according to a news report.
