Sheriff’s organization seeks volunteers

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department

The Doña Ana County Special Deputy Sheriff Commission is looking for candidates to fill volunteer positions in the organization.

The group is seeking individuals who are at least 21 or older and U.S. citizens. Qualified applicants must also pass a background check. Previous law enforcement experience is not required.

The mission of the Special Deputy Sheriff Commission is to support the functions of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, provide citizen input to the sheriff on a wide range of issues related to law enforcement, participate in programs such as community policing, training activities, public relations, legislative support, and any other matter deemed useful and necessary by the Sheriff.  Currently, members participate in improving the quality of life in Doña Ana County communities through programs like Neighborhood Watch and Ident-a-Child.
