Following an announcement by the Federal Communications Commission that it will issue new rules in the coming months to protect an open internet, communications advocates are crying foul, saying the FCC’s promises are largely toothless and the agency has the power to do far more.

Southern NM Pride to honor LGBT leaders, allies

Southern New Mexico Pride will honor community leaders at a gala event this week in Las Cruces.

The event will feature live music by The Mother Tuckers, dinner by The Double Eagle of Mesilla with libations poured by Dublin’s Street Pub. Honors will be awarded to LGBTQ-friendly business, activist citizen, political figure, best media advocates, best LQBTQ outreach campaign, and Southern New Mexico Pride Board Service Award.
