Southern NM Pride

Southern New Mexico Pride will honor community leaders at a gala event this week in Las Cruces.

The event will feature live music by The Mother Tuckers, dinner by The Double Eagle of Mesilla with libations poured by Dublin’s Street Pub. Honors will be awarded to LGBTQ-friendly business, activist citizen, political figure, best media advocates, best LQBTQ outreach campaign, and Southern New Mexico Pride Board Service Award.

“We have some remarkable leaders in our community and this event, the first of its kind, will recognize their efforts,” said Carrie Hamblen, outgoing Pride board co-‐chair. “We are especially delighted to recognize these individuals and businesses as we close a year of unprecedented accomplishments in the LGBTQ arena.”

The Southern New Mexico Pride Inaugural Awards Gala will take place starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Alameda House, 526 S. Alameda Blvd. Tickets are $50 per person, $90 per couple, and $500 per sponsored table, all available online at or at Spirit Winds Coffee Bar, 2260 S. Locust St.
